Senator Joe Manchin seems to be facing a growing opposition for re-election in 2018. While many candidates are being mentioned outside groups are already lining up to oppose him. Former executive director of the Republican Governors Association has filed to form a Super PAC that would not only oppose Manchin in the general, but aims to clear the path for WV Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. Several other Republican candidates are eyeing the seat so a bruising GOP primary could only help Manchin in this Super PAC's eyes. Look to see if this preemptive move from Morrisey supporters dissuades other candidates like U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (WV-3).
