Erie area Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Butler/Erie), who was first elected in 2010, confirms that he is considering launching a challenge against Sen. Bob Casey Jr. (D). The field against Casey has been slow to form even after President Trump’s win here and the GOP re-electing Sen. Pat Toomey (R), both in this past November’s vote. Rep. Kelly would be a strong contender against Sen. Casey who appears to be in relatively strong political position as the election cycle begins. The Congressman also says he has not closed the door on running for Governor.
