Garden State voters went to the polls last night to choose nominees who will vie to replace term-limited Governor and former presidential candidate Chris Christie (R). Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno captured 47% in the Republican contest while former US Ambassador to Germany and Wall Street executive Phil Murphy registered a 48% win for the Democratic nomination; translating into victory spreads of 16 and 26 points, respectively, for the two major party candidates. Mr. Murphy now becomes the favorite for the November 7th general election in what will most likely be a successful Democratic conversion.
