Former U.S. Representative Tom Periello uses his endorsements from former President Barack Obama and Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren to close out his campaign for the Democratic nomination for Virginia Governor. Polling has shown that Periello has had the momentum in the run up to the June vote, but Lt. Governor Ralph Northam has had such a lock on traditional Democratic support it seems tough to crack what traditionally is a low turnout election. Using firebrands like Obama, Sanders, and Warren might be the key to Periello keeping that momentum up and scoring an upset.
