State Rep. Todd Prichard, an Iraq War veteran, is the latest to join the Democratic gubernatorial field. Already vying for the party nomination is fellow state Sen. Nate Boulton, and businessman Fred Hubbell, Polk County Conservation Director Rich Leopold, former state Democratic Party chair Andy McGuire, and former Des Moines School Board President Jon Neiderbach. The winner will likely face Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds (R), who soon will ascend to the Governorship upon incumbent Terry Branstad’s (R) confirmation as US Ambassador to China.
