Congressman Rodney Davis (R) has won reelection in Illinois’s 13th district, defeating Democratic challenger Ann Callis. This south central district encompasses the state capital of Springfield, and is evenly divided between republicans and democrats.
In the 113th Congress, Davis sat on the House Committee on Agriculture and House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
In his reelection, Davis was endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Laborers International Union of North America, NFIB, and the Illinois Education Association, displaying a wide range of support.
He won with less than 1% of the vote in the 2012 general election. He won his 2014 re-election by over 17%. This is a swing district that went to President Obama in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012.
