Dan Kohl, the nephew of retired veteran Sen. Herb Kohl (D-WI), announced yesterday that he will challenge sophomore Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Glenbeulah) in Wisconsin’s east-central 6th District, located halfway between Milwaukee and Green Bay. Mr. Kohl is the former Assistant General Manager for the Milwaukee Bucks professional basketball club, a sports entity that his uncle owns. Dan Kohl also worked in Washington with the lobbying firm that represents Major League Baseball. Kohl has run for office once before, for state Assembly, but failed to secure the Democratic nomination. Mr. Grothman, a conservative, succeeded veteran moderate Congressman Tom Petri (D-Fond du Lac) in 2014. Rep. Grothman, who served in the Wisconsin state legislature from 1993 until his election to Congress in 2014, scored twin 57% victory percentages in his two federal races. This district has competitive potential.
