Supporting free enterprise since 1963.
The short turnaround for the South Carolina 5th runoff in the Republican Primary has produced some sudden movements to delineate the two remaining candidates. House speaker pro tempore Tommy Pope has garnered the endorsement of South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy and this endorsement has gotten a bump by being featured in a television ad done by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. This independent expenditure by the U.S. Chamber shows that Pope is not willing to align with the Freedom Caucus, a position his opponent Ralph Norman has gone the opposite way on. The other ad by the Pope campaign highlights Norman's votes opposed to job creation and Pope's commitments to cutting taxes.
