While Oklahoma is one of the strongest Republican states in the country, Democrats will have a gubernatorial primary next year. State House Minority Leader Scott Inman announced that he will enter the open Governor’s contest next year. He joins former state Sen. Connie Johnson in the Democratic contest. Republicans will be favored to hold the office. Two-term Gov. Mary Fallin (R) is ineligible to seek a third term.
