Yesterday, Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Youngstown) announced that he would not enter the open Governor’s race next year. The move is not particularly surprising considering Ryan’s history. Since coming to Congress in 2003, Rep. Ryan has been mentioned as a possible candidate for Governor, Senator, and Lt. Governor. Each time he backed off and returned to the House race to seek re-election. It looks like his familiar pattern is returning for the 2018 election.
