The 11th District encompasses parts of Oakland and Wayne Counties and is reliably Republican. Mr. Trott scored a 53-40% re-election victory in November over a candidate who spent more than $1.1 million. President Trump carried the district, 50-45%. The 11th contains the Wayne County population entities of Livonia and Plymouth Township before traveling north into Oakland County to annex Novi and the areas around the city of Pontiac. It then flips back south to take the cities of Troy and the Congressman’s hometown of Birmingham.
