As Rep. John Delaney (D-Potomac) makes moves to enter the Governor’s race (see posting below), two state legislators are executing corresponding activity to jump into what will be an open Washington, DC suburban congressional district. State House Majority Leader Bill Frick (D) and state Delegate Aruna Miller (D) are both taking action to file congressional committees. Former congressional candidate (8th District) and Total Wine founder and CEO David Trone is also positioning himself to again become a congressional candidate, but this time in a different district. We can expect a highly active Democratic primary, with a moderately competitive general election to follow if, in fact, the seat does open.
